Welcome to our twenty-seventh Follow Us @ Spring Cottage! This week has been a good one, with the 'Lambs' lettuce and 'Land' cress germinating (if a little late) in Planter 1, and the 'Winter Hardy' spring onions germinating with an excellent success rate, and appearing especially healthy! As usual, the lettuces in Planter 3 have also continued to grow well and be picked daily, while the kales in Planter 4 have continued to thrive (and be selectively picked twice a week!) If you haven't seen our earlier posts, why not check those out first? We've used a four planter to demonstrate, so if you're working with a smaller model, just pick your favourites and follow them through instead!

Welcome to our twenty-sixth Follow Us @ Spring Cottage! This is an especially exciting post for us, as it marks a full half year since we began to document our progress with our demonstration planters; we hope you've enjoyed it and found it helpful so far! The 'Lambs' lettuce and 'Land' cress are still yet to germinate in Planter 1, and the 'Winter Hardy' spring onions are similar (but we didn't expect any different just yet)! On the plus side, the lettuces in Planter 3 have also continued to grow well and have now been thinned, while the kales in Planter 4 have continued to thrive (and be selectively picked!) If you haven't seen our earlier posts, why not check those out first? We've used a four planter to demonstrate, so if you're working with a smaller model, just pick your favourites and follow them through instead!
Welcome to our twenty-fifth Follow Us @ Spring Cottage! The 'Lambs' lettuce and 'Land' cress are yet to germinate in Planter 1, but we've finally cleared the quartet of herbs from Planter 2 and sown some 'Winter Hardy' spring onions, that'll stand until February! The lettuces in Planter 3 have also continued to grow well (and make good use of their training), while the kales in Planter 4 have continued to thrive (and be selectively picked!) If you haven't seen our earlier posts, why not check those out first? We've used a four planter to demonstrate, so if you're working with a smaller model, just pick your favourites and follow them through instead!
Welcome to our twenty-fourth Follow Us @ Spring Cottage! This week we've removed the peas from Planter 1, and replaced them with some winter-hardy 'Lambs' lettuce and 'Land' cress. We've also picked the last of the herbs in Planter 2, in preparation for something different next week! Finally - the lettuces in Planter 3 have grown exceptionally well in this unexpected heat, and the kales in Planter 4 have also continued to thrive (and be selectively picked!) If you haven't seen our earlier posts, why not check those out first? We've used a four planter to demonstrate, so if you're working with a smaller model, just pick your favourites and follow them through instead!
Welcome to our twenty-third Follow Us @ Spring Cottage! This week we've continued to keep the herbs in Planter 2 in place (yet again!), although this will mostly likely be for the final time. The peas in Planter 1 are also coming to an end, so we've been from those picking fervently! The line lettuces in Planter 3 have all germinated successfully and in great numbers, and the kales in Planter 4 have grown to the stage that they are beginning to be cautiously picked! If you haven't seen our earlier posts, why not check those out first? We've used a four planter to demonstrate, so if you're working with a smaller model, just pick your favourites and follow them through instead!
Welcome to our twenty-second Follow Us @ Spring Cottage! This week we've decided to keep on with the mixed herbs in Planter 2 for longer than anticipated, simply because they're standing so well and taste great! The Kales in Planter 4 also continue to grow well, and are really beginning to fill out. Finally, some exciting news from Planter 3, which is now occupied by three rows of peppery winter line-lettuces! If you haven't seen our earlier posts, why not check those out first? We've used a four planter to demonstrate, so if you're working with a smaller model, just pick your favourites and follow them through instead!
